Meeting – 7/11/09

Our next meeting is Saturday, July 11, 2009 at 10:00am. We meet at the West End House Camp on the Road Between the Ponds in Parsonsfield.  Meetings are open to anyone interested in Long Pond and the surrounding area.
The July 11 meeting will be a joint meeting with the West Pond Association.  The guest speaker will be a lieutenant from the York County Sheriff’s office.

CRT Drop Off – 6/20/09

The towns of Parsonsfield, Porter, and Cornish have again scheduled a free CRT Drop Off on Saturday, June 20, 2009, at the South Hiram Elementary School parking lot.  We do not know the exact time, but it is generally 9am to 1pm.  You can drop off monitors, keyboards, computers, TVs, fluorescent bulbs, typewriters, etc.

White Goods Pickup 5/29/09

Parsonsfield’s white goods pickup is scheduled for Friday, May 29, 2009.  Items should be at your curb by 6:00am.  Refrigerators need a “freon sticker” which are available from the Parsonsfield Town Office.  If you have questions about what is acceptable, contact Jordan’s Trucking & Rubbish Removal (207-625-8632).

White Goods Pickup 10/17/08

Just in case you want to get rid of a washer, refrigerator, hot water heater, etc., Parsonsfield is holding it’s annual fall white goods pick-up on Friday, October 17.

If you want a refrigerator picked up, you’ll need to purchase a $20 freon removal sticker from the Town Office (207-625-4558) and put it on the door.

Meeting – 7/5/08

Meeting Date

Our next meeting is Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 10:00am. We meet at the West End House Camp on the Road Between the Ponds in Parsonsfield. Meetings are open to anyone interested in Long Pond and the surrounding area.

Our guest speaker will be Russ Martin, Director, Subsurface Wastewater Program, Division of Environmental Health with the Maine DEP. Basically, he is in charge and has the final say of what you can and cannot do with your septic system near a lake. If you have any questions about your septic system, this is the meeting to attend!

Maine Loon Count 2007

This morning’s Portland Press Herald had an article about the Maine loon count for 2007. Apparently Maine Audubon recorded the highest number of loon chicks since they started the count in 1983.
